Archbishop of Magdeburg

In the first window to the right of the door, Norbert’s calling to the episcopacy is depicted.  In 1124, Norbert was consecrated the Archbishop of Magdeburg in Germany against his will in the presence of King Lothaine and the papal legates.  A series of crosiers, symbolic of the Episcopal office are superimposed on the figure of Norbert.
