Twilight Retreat: Hospitality—Becoming People of Warm Welcome

Twilight RetreatProviding hospitality is a Gospel imperative: Scripture tells us that when we welcome the stranger, we welcome Christ. But welcoming the needy stranger into our home, church, neighborhood, or country is often easier said than done. Who are the strangers or “outsiders” in our midst? Just what are we asked to do for them in the face of limited time and resources? How can we balance the care for strangers with the need for communal boundaries, safety, and real obligations to care of “our own”?

Reflect with Bridget Burke Ravizza, Ph.D., professor of theology and religious studies at St. Norbert College, on this essential Christian virtue and think creatively about how you might be called to practice hospitality.

Please note: Twilight retreats offer participants an opportunity to refresh and renew through prayer, reflection, and enrichment. While the retreat begins with an introduction at 5 p.m., and dinner at 5:15 p.m., you can extend your experience by joining the Norbertine community for Mass at 4:30 p.m.
